Little known fact: The term 'stormtrooper' was first coined by German troops in WW1 to describe Canadian soldiers. They were well renowned as fierce fighters and were used as shock troops in both world wars. The Germans were terrified of them.

The American army awarded 30 bronze stars to canadian snipers for distinguished action in support of U.S. infantry operations in Afghanistan. The only time the U.S. army has ever presented this award to foreign servicemen, I believe.
I thnk some of the chickenhawks dislike the canadians for the same reason they dislike the French, they only engage in war when there is a good reason to
