And I beieve your last statement sums it up quite well..much like " in the eye of the beholder" comes to mind also.. since our reactions to emotions vary as does the person..we need different genre to satisfy this emotional/mental need. I also believe that how/when we are exposed to various forms of musicical form in our earlier years we become more accustome. Not to exclude the possibilty of the gene pool having an influence in our muscial genre preferences to one form or the other.
