The problem with these discussions is people want to lump all banks into one evil group. There are many small town local banks and credit unions that do good work and give back to their communities. They provide employment opportunities as well.

Agreed.

I have had friends who've lost half of what their houses are worth.

A lot of other friends are renting their homes out so they won't go into foreclosure.
Again, I think it's the boot strap mentality.
But, that's just me.

But, I really hope Magog is wrong.
