I'm glad Krummhorn took the bull by the horns. He's right. That's why I'm down on Beethoven.
Imagine living in a time when there isn't electricity, cars, airplanes, factories, all the modern noise-makers.
But Beethoven wasn't happy to listen to the last idyllic European era, no, he had to conduct a symphony,
and considering real guns and cannons were used indoors to make those sounds,
you can say a symphony was the loudest manmade thing around, sonic abuse, to be polite.
So JHC, when you load up your chamber for chamber music, you're only being traditional.
Loud, very loud, but traditional. I thought you were modernistical.
