President Obama’s proposed 2012 budget will cut several billion dollars from the government’s energy assistance fund for poor people, officials briefed on the subject told National Journal.

It's the biggest domestic spending cut disclosed so far, and one that will likely generate the most heat from the president's traditional political allies.

He can't do this! I mean, he CAN'T DO THIS.. Because this is how you GET liberals and minorities to sign on to stupid, liberal energy policies.

It's like the northeast.. Places up there in Ted Kennedy's old state get subsidies to help them heat their homes. So, they can continue to support wrong headed energy policies, knowing they will never have to pay the price for them.

If you remove the subsidy, however.. All that changes and people are forced to pay market rates. Which I completely approve of... But it's going to shoot his windmill & rubber band energy policy right in the foot.
