What are your thoughts on the link to Algeria?
Another pressure cooker.. Regime in place for half a century, employs 1/3rd of the work force. Poverty & a centrally planned economy means government takes the blame. around 10% unemployment. 23% below the poverty line. Inflation at 5%. Net food importers. Over half of household income goes just to feed themselves.
70% male & 99% muslim.
It's going to get worse, because they're trying to buy their way out of it, despite debts in the 25+% of GDP range. Algeria embarked on a program last year to spend 100+% of GDP on "infrastructure" Which had BETTER result in improved living standards.. As opposed to just busy work to put money in citizens pockets.
I don't think I'll be vacationing there.
