A friend of mine lost his job last year as an accountant for a home heating oil company. Some guy in India is doing it now for much cheaper. Is it the company's fault? Maybe, I don't know. The guy in India evidently has a much lower cost of living. If my friend's salary had been slashed in half he would have lost his house, probably downsizing to an apartment, so he's better off on unemployment for now until he can find a comparable position. Who's to blame in all this? I have no idea, I'm not an economist.
