Well, Paul did vote for the tax cuts... Other Republicans opposed them, claiming if the rich didn't get their cuts then NOBODY is getting a cut. Paul voted for the cuts Pelosi laid out.

And frankly, if Obama doesn't want the additional cuts, they're going to be hard to get.. He still has the veto pen and it really depends on just how hard he's willing to push on this.

Having lost Congress, he may also plan on saving those cuts as some sort of bargaining chip.. Which is a low down, bullshit tactic.. But I can see him doing it.

Regardless of what happens, I'm glad they passed some cuts today.. Because with a guy like Obama in charge (A thin skinned autocrat with a veto pen) a bird in the hand is worth 20 in the bush.
I don't know. I think the Pubs still have the upper hand in this one. Pelosi is dead. She can rant all she wants but nobody is listening.
Most economists are saying it would be a disaster to raise ANYONE'S taxes right now. The Pubs don't want to kill the middle class in this fight. They just think they'll win it in the long run.
After January the lame ducks will be gone and they can retroactively cut taxes if they want anyway.
