For something as innocent as Mushrooms, they will do far worse than kill you. First of all they are going to try to take all of your money, and then if you still somehow manage to get your hands on them, they will take away your freedom. The way the Government sees it, they provide freedom, they can take it away. For an action so innocent you most likely stay stationary for several hours during the entire thing, they are willing to throw you in with Murderers and Rapists. You may not be a criminal now, but they see you as one, and they are going to make you one!
