I've always wondered about this.. I hear the left talk about it all the time.

First.. What is a "living wage" Specifically.

Obviously it would vary with the locale... Just like the cost of living differs across the country.

But if we could arrive at a number or percentage, what happens when employers are forced to pay that wage to all employees and regardless of merit?

I would expect unemployment to rise and businesses to close their doors.

How would paying someone more than they are worth accomplish anything useful?
