Well, ya know.. The rulers in France brought this on themselves. We're doing it too.
It's a bit like musical chairs.
An endless procession of politicians, who are empowered for only a brief period, make an endless series of absolutely WILD promises which are left for future generations of citizens and politicians to fulfill... Regardless of anything.
They're viewed as a debt. In many cases they ARE (Or involve) an actual, monetary debt that must be satisfied.
This is not sustainable. It's not fair either.
And I've heard all the economic arguments and they leave me flat. As a universal, moral principle: Excepting unavoidable conditions which threaten the republic itself and all future generations with it (Like World War, for example) One generation should NEVER be permitted to sell future generations into any type of slavery.. Debt based or otherwise.
This just can't continue.. You can't claim to be an advanced, enlightened society and make wild promises you can't pay for.
