A few weeks ago, after I became very frustrated with Ben in a discussion about religion, I commented in another thread about Ben's morality by mentioning something that he told me privately in a private message. I was frustrated with his beliefs so I attacked him as a person and betrayed a trust. I was wrong and I am sorry. Ben is crazy and intolerant and he has abhorrent beliefs but it gave me no right to either betray his trust or attempt to denigrate him as a human being. Ben should also be given some credit that he never gets around here. I think a while ago (coincidentally on his birthday), I had mentioned in a thread that we should give him some slack because he is, ultimately, a good man. Years ago, he tried to help me and offer me kind words. This is just a reminder that no matter how distasteful we find someone's beliefs they are more than just a particular stance on a particular issue; they are a person and they are deserving of our love and respect.
