That's a brilliant idea.

We've got a low-powered pellet gun that was bought as part of a Halloween costume.

Also got the 12-gauge and the 30-06.

30-06 is a no go, on account of it being illegal to fire a rifle like that around here.

I've accidentally discharged the 12-gauge in the house before, a load of 7.5. Nobody called the cops. So if I really wanted to get the dog's attention, I could theoretically do that. But I think that even bird-shot is a bit excessive. And I'm a guy who wishes that every problem could be solved with shotguns.

The pellet gun is the only acceptable option. Maybe if we could get a paint ball gun and somehow got stinky paint balls, that would be cool.
