Sorry to see the last of the Kennedy brothers fade from the scene. Supported John, worked for Robert, admired Ted. At least Ted died naturally, with some gray hair to show for a good life. I find it hard to believe that so many here summarize an entire life devoted to a constituency as liberal as he was is actually defined by a single moment of cowardice. Yes, he panicked. Yes, a young woman died. No, his life cannot hope to be summed up by that one moment. :anger:
If you read the accounts from those close to him, it wasn't that one moment that I have a problem with, it's what he did over the next few days. That wasn't spur of the moment, that was premeditated and planned and the true test of his character. Which he obviously failed. Also accounts of some of his activities later in life showed that he didn't really learn from his earlier mistakes.
And since I'm not a liberal, his legislative history didn't impress me either
