Captain Nemo's Red Front scenario is what brought me here... that was the subject of my very first post, in the SLeague forum... is was of moderate length... I remember Mao was one of my first apolyfriends!

Lincoln- (July 2000)
I started here [in the OT] and this is my first post: "The bold type clowns that you send over to Newsmax need the side of an overpass on which to scribble. Are your arguments that weak that you must resort to name calling and ridiculous interruptions of logical discussions. On the other hand, you do add some humor to the conversation. Not by your see-thru disguises but by the fact that you really believe that you actually do know everything. Come on over! But please have a little common decency. Plastering your foes with slander certainly does not further your cause, regardless of which side of the fence you are on. "

I started in the Civ3 suggestions, in "The Communist Problem" in early August and it was a post of S. Kroeze dimensions

Par4- (May 2000)
I think I remember yours orange you came right when I first looked at the boards. It was something like "Hi I'm orangeswfr and I love Civ2 and can't wait for Civ3!" I started in the Civ3 gen and mine was short and only got 1 reply "Hi I'm Par4"

Murgatroyd- (February 2000)
I started on the 25th page of the Fourth Coffee Shop, after lurking for about 10 pages, with this post:

I'll have a large bucket of coffee, please.
For [the meaning of my username], do a Google search on my username and occupation. Click on any of the results.

Narck- (April 1999)
I started on the OT, in a debate about gun control I think. I attacked MWHC on the issue in my very first post

Tizzy- (August 2000)
My first post was about 3 months ago, and I think it was here in the OT. I can't remember the topic, but I know I mentioned my husband, cos I immediately got called a DL! I found this place because of a link on another board. Someone started a topic there asking if anyone played Civ, and I asked him for the link to here. [My username] was given to me by my sister, who decided a few years ago that I was incapable of doing anything without getting "in a tizzy" i.e. flustered. It's also a kind of variation on my middle name.

Seneca- (June 2000)
I started here [In the OT], and immediately gained a reputation for sparkling originality with a thread called 'Hello, I'm new' I'd been looking for a new way to waste time at work, as my old haunt, the Championship Manager forum, was mainly full of idiot teenagers, and power-crazed mods with a penchant for closing threads and banning people just for the hell of it I'm banned from there now
Where the name came from:
Blame Thucydides... [philosopher quoted in SMAC] I don't know where he is now, but I saw his name and though 'Aha! A historically aware, classically-biased site!' Theben was also around, and I imagined him to be somehow enamored of the ancient city of Thebes (either Greece or Egypt). Caesar the Great, Alexander's Horse and Alexander the Great were also posting that day, so I felt bound to choose a Classical name. Cicero was taken, so Seneca was the next best thing. Now own up - Who took Cicero????
