There are basic cultural patterns here that I trust. The more extreme a religious group is, the more prone they are to fragment. The new fragments usually hate each other more than the original enemy.

Just one example. The Shia and the Suni hate each other much more than they hate Christians. Look at what they are doing to each other in Iraq.

Having said that, the Christers and Islamists were made for each other. It is the will of God. They will show the world why we need sanity -- and why we don't need them.
