If I believed the Devil to be a serious part of my religious beliefs I would probably call them on it. Or sit in the corner and hold my tongue.

If I don't believe in something strongly enough then it's not worth defending. BTW: I don't believe that your devil exists, by whatever name you call him. I will defend that.
Well as a Modern Satnist I do not believe in a literal Satan or Devil, or God for that matter. Satan is merely an Archetype and Modern Satanism a philosophy and lifestyle. I believe people need to quit blaming an imagined evil boogyman for their actions and take responsibility for their deeds. They also need to quit depending on an imaginary friend is the sky for grace, forgiveness and redemption, these are totally up to the individual also. But that is just my personal opinion. As far as defending what I believe in, I just chose my battles, and this is something I find petty and not getting into a pissing contest over. If some fundie goes overboard about "the devil" I will get into it, but even then it takes allot, I just consider the source. It's usuallly the same type of people that deny evolution and believe the earth is only 6 to 9 thousand years old...

Budog.
