While I personally believe there is much wisdom and value in the Bible, I feel that much as what is supposed to be taken as metaphorically has been taken out of context and literally, and visa versa... I do believe that the authors of the Bible were influenced by spirit in context to their time and culture when the wrote the original versions of scripture. JMHO.
