When you study ancient mythologies you discover that in many cases the Demons were Gods that were conquered by newer Gods. It is probably a sign of one culture conquering another culture. The conquering culture will impose its Gods and demonize the Gods of the conquered culture.

But taking it into the metaphysical (Vedanta) realm, God in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita says in various places that He is "the Lord who dwells in every creature" (Srimad Bhagavad Gita 4:6) that, of course, would include all the Gods (Devas & Devis), Demons (males & females), minerals, plants, animals, and human beings.
