Have you had any experience yourself with meditating for short segments of time, or amid distractions and attention-consuming activities (taking care of small children, going to work, etc)?
I've found that if I notice my mind is scurrying around in circles, focusing with breathing and taking 2 or 3 gentle, slower, breaths helps me to be fully aware with the present moment again. It can be done while standing or walking, as well as sitting - and there's no need to close my eyes or start thinking of it as separate ''meditating.''
