Perhaps, I should say the concept of emptiness!

Hi Dawn,
You've nailed the 'problem' there. There's much ink spilled on this and just about all of it wasted in my opinion. Emptiness is a discovery, not a concept, ultimate condition or philosophy. It is not necessary to "understand" emptiness - it will eventually unfold of itself within meditation.
