The idea of rebirth was a world view long before the Buddha came along and played little or no part in his philosophy on anguish and the ending of anguish.

That is the pertinent point as I understand it too and I don't need to have an opinion one way or another about rebirth. This life is the important one in the here and now. Tibetan culture is another thing altogether. Hope that helps, Bundokji.
