Default Buddha Nature.
A monk asks Johshu---Does a dog have Buddha nature? Joshu anwered Mu! and the monk became immediately enligtened. Just what is Buddha nature? Did not Buddha advise to question everything he taught?
As a spiritual and secular ponderer I have difficulty in divorcing logic from, what seems to me, esoteric speculations.
The Buddhism I have read seems to deal with absolutes---"right thinking", "right speech" "right attitude" and this seems to contradict the fact that that such are grounded in the secular world, as well as being ambiguous unless extensively elaborated upon.
Do you contemplate an evolving, devolving, ever changing cosmos or an end state? Without an end state (spiritually) we would have something akin to Darwinian evolution and this is my present preferred contemplation.
