As I posted in my introduction, I'm extremely new to buddhism, also being military doesn't exactly go hand in hand with
preserving life. So I was wondering if anybody has any advice for me on how or which way to... I don't want to say "be buddhist" because that sounds ignorant lol, but I'm not entirely sure where to start, there are no practice groups and I can't talk to
close friends or relatives due to religious differences.
Is there a contract with your service organization that will end one day soon? If so then the end could be the new beginning. Yet for studying the Buddha , the Dharma, the Sangha and investigating the main schools of Buddhism one can begin at the moment of getting in touch with it. Gather all that you can find and just start meditating about this. Meditation is possible in many ways and at any moment too. One thing is sure....you will also change. And these changes will be a sign of progress. Day by day. Just my 2 cents of what I am able to say.
