Not the right reasons maybe, but there you are!

Perfectly good reason. We could all use nice company that's for sure. Perhaps you could find companionship through other channels, like a hobby for example. Obviously there's no 'spiritual' content but at least you could feel more at ease?

Either that or subvert your Church group and convert some to Buddhism so that they could come to your place for a cuppa and a chat.
