Like Aloka-D, I live in a multicultural city in the UK, I've only recently become a Buddhist, I did mention to my CPN (Community Psychiatric Nurse) that I'd been practicing meditation and she seemed disinterested, but this was probably due to her lack of knowledge about Buddhism.
