My mind roams anyway, but I have noticed that if I try to meditate at certain times of day, or sitting certain ways, it all just goes to crap.
Focus on your breath and let your thoughts arise and cease. Just sit for 5 minutes. Don't force yourself. The idea is to start to see your thoughts as just thoughts, at least while sitting.
