Possibly the most useful book to reach me from the Mighty Amazon was Buddhism Without Beliefs by Stephen Batchelor.

It makes a lot of sense to me, and deftly skirts around the whole issue of Buddhist traditions - which is now causing me increased confusion as I start looking at different meditation groups...
