Default Extended poll: which nations are European?
A badly beaten dead horse, certainly, but I failed to find a suitable general poll on the subject, at least within the recent history of the forum.

The definition of European is up to the voters, since it would be difficult to coordinate it. It is most likely a combination of physical, political, cultural, geographical and other factors; the weight of each depends on the person.

If you have the time, please assign importance to the different factors on a 1 to 10 scale. Obviously, the factors are pretty general and there are many missing nuances (such as population distribution in geography).

What factors matter most to me when determining who is European?
1 = completely unimportant, 10 = extremely important
Physical (factors) - fitting into Europe phenotypically and genetically ("Ukrainians are European because they are white Slavs hard to distinguish from Poles")
Religion - fitting into Europe religiously ("Bosnians are not European because they are predominantly Muslim")
Views - fitting into Europe because of views prevalent nowadays ("Serbian homophobia is deeply un-European, as is their militarism and nationalism")
Cultural - fitting into Europe by possessing certain cultural traits ("Only countries influenced directly by the Renaissance can be called European")
Historical - fitting into Europe due to being called European for a long time ("Greeks invented the very definition of Europe, Turks - like white Americans in America - are alien")
Interaction - fitting into Europe by interacting with other recognised Europeans frequently and profoundly ("Turks are constantly interacting with Europeans, while the Mordvins are isolated - why call them European?")
Self-ID - being European through regarding oneself as European ("Most Tatars consider themselves European, so they are European")
Geography - fitting into Europe geographically ("Chechnya clearly lies in Europe, north of the Caucasus, why would anyone think Chechens non-European?")
Political/Economic - fitting into Europe politically, through membership in organisations or because organisations think so ("Croatia becomes European by being included into the EU, Russians shouldn't bother")
Other
