^^ the gap is generational, but also regional and socio-economic, within this country.

Poor rural people are more skilled in basic survival than wealthier urban people.

Older generations were generally handier around the household with repairs etc. than younger generations.

Sometimes there is a weird paradox, though. A heat wave comes, and poor elderly people in urban areas drop like flies. They have no A/C and nailed their windows shut to protect against burglars.
