Like it was mentioned earlier that Culture, Religion and Language are some of the main reasons people marry their own. And for me shared personal experiences, whether those be good or bad that comes with being of particular race/ethnicity, Especially in a country where you are part of the minority is important.

2 popular mainstream choices in north america(by mainstream I mean what majority of white guys like), are always either white women and east-asian women, but they are also the opposite end when it comes to privilege in many ways. Just imagine having my indian-looking children from a white woman or western east-asian woman. when my children go through racial discrimination a typical white girl or asian girl(being their mother) here in canada wouldn't know what to do since they never went through similar experience themselves.
