My fam knows this very well Spark Whenever a more admixed than usual family member pops up, we just say its from great, great,great grandaddy.

Honestly that's what I love about Afram families, they are way more accepting than other cultures' families. My dad did not get that same love for coming out SSA admixed. I also did not get that same love. Our SSA admixed appearances were/are treated with distaste. Some family members try to get us to be self-hateful and want us not to identify with Blackness or Indigenousness. Sarah Laing came to identify with Black African people and her family hated her for it, that is why I relate so much to this movie. Sarah Laing and myself have both had family issues because we look SSA admixed and we identify with that SSA admixture.
