Yeaap, because it was her family, i can't believe how her sibling disowned her, even in Apartheid South Africa.

So freaking typical. Disappointing.

There were issues in my case, too. My mother's mother was not too keen on my father's phenotype. It was never said explicitly, but kind of like in MK's case, it was implicitly hinted at a few times. Then I was born...and things got very interesting.

I still am not in touch with that grandmother. Part of that has to do with that baggage among plenty of other drama.
