I'm always confused on

LATINOS, CHICANOS?

Do the Andean Peruvians called themselves Latinos? African descents in South America called themselves Latinos?

I have always thought that LATINOS refers to people of LATIN ANCESTRY like Italians, Romans, Portuguese, French, Spanish...

I might as well called myself a GERMANO since I speak English which is a Germanic language? lol
