Say you have two men. Both the same height, one is Italian and one is East Indian. Will the man who is Italian in a lot of Western countries or a lot of countries in Europe already have a significant advantage over the man who is Indian simply because of his label?

because one nationality is seen as "attractive" and the other as "unattractive"

Both the same height, one is Italian and one is East Indian.
