I think the Salvadorian Harnizo and castizo population is a bit higher than that, maybe 15%. But being from Central America they are heavily mixed with Amerindian.

I've noticed a lot of Puerto Ricans look like depigmented Africans. But they definitely have a sizable white population. My ex coworker was Puerto Rican and looked very southern Euro. When I tried explaining to her that her ethnicity might be PR but her race is white she looked at me like I was crazy LOL.

If she was NY Rican then that could be possible as in the US white and PR are considered separated races, and she didn't understood what you said to her, on here you could be more understood(despite many off white call themselves mixed on here)
