I think the Salvadorian Harnizo and castizo population is a bit higher than that, maybe 15%. But being from Central America they are heavily mixed with Amerindian.

I've noticed a lot of Puerto Ricans look like depigmented Africans. But they definitely have a sizable white population. My ex coworker was Puerto Rican and looked very southern Euro. When I tried explaining to her that her ethnicity might be PR but her race is white she looked at me like I was crazy LOL.

yeah in nyc it seems phenotype wise there are pricans who overlap with the italian community and then those who seem like paled out blacks
which also is strange because every other puerto rican u meet will tell u he/she is part italian or part african american to help explain why they look the way they do
