According to the US census, 33% or so of the Mexicans in San Jose, CA identify as white hispanics. I think what that means is 33% of them are relatively light skinned or somewhat Euro looking and thus identify as white but I know without a doubt 33% of them don't actually resemble Spaniards or other Europeans.

How do San Jose chicanos/mexicans look like? Are they balanced mestizo or more european than amerindian based on their phenotype?
