I agree with you for once.

Tyra Banks, to put it bluntly... is a whore, someone who prostituted her own race for $$$ and fame.

It's a shame so many people glorify this worthless bitch. She is not even attractive.

Her brother is an asshole too- I worked in the same building as he did when I was stationed in DC. Little guy- shorter than me, and I am shorter than Tyra. I bet he was browbeat growing up LOL.

To be on topic: I know some light-skinned AA ladies who came from New Orleans, and they have told me many stories of how darker AA people would discriminate against them and bully them because they were lighter. They also admitted that it happened in the reverse, too. One of them is married to a dark AA man, and she told me that when she was pregnant she was hoping that her son would be dark because she didn't want him to experience this racism. Ironically, her husband was secretly wishing that their son would be lighter, like her, for the very same reason. They admitted this to each other after their baby was a few months old. Incidentally, he is a medium tone, right between both of them. I think this was a huge relief to them.

So, I agree there is this problem in the US. I don't know how widespread it is, though. I didn't know it happened until my friends talked about it. If it is a common issue I can see why it could undermine civil rights achievements in America- people who are avidly racist will find any excuse not to change. They would love to be able to say "well they hate each other, so why can't we hate them too?"
