I'm really starting to hate presidential elections, every 4 years it's the same thing - let's focus on some minor hot topic politics issues instead of the candidates political views. Possibly because it's the only thing people are qualified to talk about - including me, while I understand the field in which I work I can't claim to be an expert in everything else.

one of my least favorite things is hearing this 1000 times:
Everyone is giving (insert favorite candidate) such a tough time because of (insert stupid issue), when (insert my least favorite candidate) said (insert other stupid issue) no one made a big deal. There is such a bias against (insert favorite candidate).

other least favorite things include the folks who love their candidate like he is their first born or religious hero and hate the other candidate as if he is Satan himself.

I want to follow the political process because I think it's important and I would like to learn something, but most of the things I'm learning from most news sources both left and right leaning remind me of grade school politics.
