I have watched a few of his lectures on TV and found him to be very knowledgeable especially on the science of Hadith. I am a Shia and as far as I can tell he does not share the views of Shias on most issues, so I do not know why many Sunnis dislike him. However he does hold the view that members of Ahlebyat are superior to other Sahabas. Could this be the reason why many Sunni brothers do not like him?.
