i was bayat to a shaikh in the past but i am no longer with him.

what i have noticed with mureeds and some shaikhs too is that they give a lot of importance to, and wish to perform, miracles, fly through the sky, act all mysterious and pretend to have divine insight etc, and they give second place to having a clean heart, practicing the sunnah, having good akhlaak etc. they also act aloof from 'regular' muslims and look down on them.

it seems that this is found not just with isolated groups of mureeds and shaikhs, but seems like the norm. saying that, i have met some nice shaikhs and mureeds, but they are quite rare.
