Would you be kind enough to give a very short overview of this book, and maybe about the person who wrote it? Is it considered a 'central' textbook in this subject?
Also to the brother who stated about getting 'Shariat o Tasawwuf'. Just a tiny overview please. I tried to find it on google. I got this:

I can't find the original, is this the same book or a different one?

For me, it cleared up many misconceptions that I had about Tazkiyyh/Tasawwuf/Sulook and its relation to Deen. The author was a world renowned scholar who Allah made his writings pleasing to the sight and comforting to the soul. All translated works of his have that effect in my opinion. Easy to read yet highly academic. I can only imagine what one will experience reading his works in Urdu or Arabic.
