Pride v. Humility

Insha'Allah Shaykh Husain's talk on the Importance of Humility will be helpful.

We are slaves of Allah

Pride has no place here and will only bring us down, slow any progress we make and even undo our good deeds. No matter what, we need to remind ourselves that everything (including the non-Muslim) is a creation of Allah

Never think we are somehow better than others. We are servants of Allah

We turn to the best of creation, our prophets, as our example and see that they would "serve people by day and Allah

by night" and this is exactly what we need to strive to do too. Humility is the key and we need it in our hearts in order to progress insha'Allah.

We should keep in mind that every single non-Muslim has the potential of being better than us because they can utter a true tawbah at any moment and earn the pleasure of Allah

so try to keep this in mind:

Every Muslim is better than me in reality & every kaffir has the potential to be better than me.

And don't let pride keep seeping into the heart... block it insha'Allah.
