Jealousy can manifest itself by over critically looking at the faults of the person one feels envious of, and not using the same for oneself. A kind of self-righteous I am so much better than him, and being micro scrupulous with others but not oneself, so pride also being present. Fame and influence bring their enemies.

Islam teaches husne zan, have a good opinion of others, make excuses for their apparent wrong doing, but we want to police others and be judgemental it feels good to the nafs. Why not leave it to Allah swt to Judge people, lets not pick faults in others when we ourselves are full of faults.
