That's the thing, the scholars are just following what the Madhab says, but as for how convincing the arguments are for Tahreem, they are not convincing at all.

but what does the madhab say?

from what i have gathered, the madhab says that it all depends on the custom of the locality. and if this is the case, then why have they issued a blanket fatwa saying that it is haram?
