....is the dua for acceptance [qubooliyatt] of our aamal's [deeds] - be it Salah / Namaz, Zakat, Hajj, Fasting, Quran, Dhikr, Khurooj, Sadaqah, be it fardh, wajib, sunnah or nafl done for the sake of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'laa.

Because we are weak,

Our imaan is weak,

Our amaal's are weak [see reason above].

Every ibadah of our's isn't up-to even an acceptable standard, we can't even reach the level of namaz that the Auliya of today perform, forget the Sahabah [ra]. So before you make other dua's after any act of worship...

Seek forgiveness from Allah SWT that the namaz [or any other ibadah] you just performed contained a lot of weaknesses, so ask Allah SWT with all humility to forgive the weaknesses and please please accept the namaz you just did and to give taufeeq to better perform namaz the next time you do.

Remember DO NOT say 'IF there were any shortcomings in my prayer, please forgive them' - Remove the stupid IF word, all of our ibaadah's have shortcomings. Period.

And yes this dua is to be performed before all other duas - you can see why that is.

And like I said before, do this after every amaal - after reading the Quran, Dhikr, after you've given sadaqah, sponsored a kid, given zakat, like after each and every amaal.

DO NOT forget this when breaking fast.

We are constantly reminded of this in tabligh - so thought I'll share it.

Its like, first seeking forgiveness and then asking:

Allahumma a’inni ‘ala dhik-rika wa shuk-rika wa husni ‘ibaa-datika
O Allah! Assist me in remembering You, in thanking You, and in worshipping You in the best of manners.

Please remember me in your Duas & esp. our fellow Muslims in Burma & Syria.
