As-salamu alaykum.

I have two related questions about the order of the Qur'an that I hope the members here can help me find answers to.

1) Why was the Qur'an not arranged in chronological order?

2) I believe that the Qur'an was standardized under Caliph Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him). What was the process by which the Qu'ran's order was standardized?

Bro the above are very dangerous assumptions. These are not Islamic beliefs. These are beliefs that is spread by evangelic christians to confuse Muslims (eg: the false assumption that Usman(ra) standardized the order etc)

-The order was standardized by the Rasoolullah

through the order of Allah Ta'ala.
-Uthman (ra) only standardized the 'Arabic script' that was written down in the mushaf. The earlier Mushaf did not have 'harakat' (diacritics) because everyone knew how to pronounce it without them in those days.
