are those numbers? stay away from the ones with numbers and unknown languages - they are not halal
yes they are arabic numbers, someone told me :
"Yes they are permissable. This is called Aadaad (numerical value). Each letter in the Arabic alphabet has a numerical value, therefore each dua/ surah has a different value depending on the letters used. E.g. the numerical value of Allah is 66. (Alif=1, Laam=30, Laam=30, Ha=5)
Taweez can be written in different ways. Using boxes or writing the dua out. Using boxes is called Naqsh and consists of either 3x3, 4x4, 5x5 etc boxes. Sometimes 3x4, 4x5 etc. The whole reasoning behind this is to prevent disrespect as the Huroof (actual letters) arent being used and also to allow for someone to gain blessings from the different surahs, which would be very hard maybe impossible to write on paper e.g. Surah Baqarah.
The first picture of the taweez shown is a 4x4 naqsh with the numerical value starting at 180 and this is the numerical value of the name of Allah - Samee' (the listening one). The number 180 will therefore be written in the box respective to the following order:
8 11 14 1
13 2 7 12
3 16 9 6
10 5 4 15
As the taweez is a naqsh the Aamil will have to fill in the rest of the 15 boxes, he will do so by using the order shown above and adding 1 each time.
e.g. 1=180, 2=181, 3=182 etc and will continue till the boxes are filled.
The variations of order depend on the reason the taweez is going to be used. All true Aamils (taweez writers) will know the variations as they normally use books of the Buzurgaane Deen."
