I'm referring to those in the "taweez" pictures; they're in hindi, NOT Arabic. Arabic numerals were stolen by the westerners: 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. Although Arabs use the hindi numerals more often now, it doesn't make them "more Arabic", just as those stolen from the Arabs- don't become "less Arabic".

You are absolutely correct, rule #1 is beginners Arabic.

I learned the same thing in my Elementary Arabic class in College...which is Arabs took on the hindi style of writing numbers, but their original style of writing was stolen from them by the Europeans.
